I'm a first time owner and a sound buff. I also have a bit of OCD. I don't like the idea of a subwoofer sitting right in the middle of the trunk so using the center well cover for a sub was not an option. Plan B: Put two 8" subs in boxes behind each seat in the space just in front of the folded down roof. Well, one of the supports in the roof moves forward and it goes up and would hit the box. Laying them flat wasn't an option because it looked horrible and the roof would be literally on the subs. Plan C: Spend a bunch more money and get it how I wanted. Two boxes made to fit as tightly as possible so the two 8" subs are in the corners of trunk. Amps are in a nice box behind the seat and require no solid mounting yet will NOT move unless lifted out.
Finishing touches are the trunk lamps that were in the corners will be mounted vertically next to the subs. They are also only charging me less than $200 for labor and material to dynamat the trunk and then put carpet to match the boxes (black).
Here's a couple of pix from my vert install. Mounted the amp and controller in the middle bucket and the subs (8") in the side bucket. Still have maintained my trunk space and has a stealth/stock look.
