A4 road racing?
Been getting more and more excited as the weather improves to start autocrossing and road racing.
Question though, I've never done it with an auto and I'm concerned about maintaining RPMs in a corner and not having it drop me a gear or something at the wrong time.
Anyone have experience road racing in an A4 and tips? I know I'm jumping the gun but every time I think about it it bothers me. I only got the A4 because it was the best deal at the time I could find (nicest, low miles and best shape for the $$). I actually enjoy it for commuting but I think it's going to be a huge pain when I start road racing.
That is where the track rats hang out.
and YES ppl do use the A4 or the C6 with the A6.
You will need to learn how to shift the A4, which is not a problem. Downshift at the end of the brake zone, to drive though the corner, then upshift out of the corner. This keeps the engine rpms in the right place.
Once you get going you MAY need to upgrade your trans cooler to handle the heat,
Other then that, better brake pads, DOT 4 brake fluid and have fun.
