***Idk how the forum rules work on this but he's technically not breaking any laws.***
Probably going to get locked even tough it's a double standard as this is no different than any track or closed course video as in both cases they are obeying the laws that apply to the roadway/course...
That's just average speed on the Autobahn Nothing illegal about that. Living here in America, we just think everything over 55mph is fast...over there, that could be Aunt Gretl driving to one of her Sunday afternoon tea and biscuit gatherings at the local retirement home
Went to Germany a couple of times to visit my son when he was there in the Army about 6 years ago. We rented a BMW Z4 (whoopie!) and headed for the autobahn. Man, those Germans are disciplined, they will imediately pull to the right to get out of your way when they see you coming. The only scary part was that sometimes if they are passing someone they dont realize how fast you are coming up on them or they cant get over right away. I also have new respect for European built cars. Those engines are made to stay together at high RPMs for long periods of time. Also went to the Nurburgring for a few laps. The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have a Z06 there. Did see a few C5s, military people get cars shipped for free. Gas and oil very expensive as is the Euro. We could probably have had it like that here but we had to go and win the war. ha ha. An afterthought, I was more worried about my son driving on the autobahn with his Army buddies than I was when he was in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, no minimum drinking age to speak of (beer sold at McDonalds drivethru) and legal prostitution. (my son was 19 at the time), barracks was like a frat house.

When I lived in Germany it would be the VW Golf whistling past at 130 kph+
Ant the video is not technically legal; it is legal
I drove an 850ci during my last assignment in Germany. Driving on the otherside of 250km was standard fare.
However; like DeeGee said, it was the Golf GTs and Opel Omega types that were the real beast on the autobahn. I've had my lunch eaten many times thinking it was was exotic that just walked me down on the autobahn and then its a frigging GTI that passes me
Glad to be be out of there because I'm still alive

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
