Using a scissor jack from a Honda. It sits nice and low, no need to roll the car onto a 2X4 to get a jack under it.

This is what I have used for the past few years - pricy, but it does have a lifetime guarantee from someone who really stands behind it from my experience...

I bought this one for $69.95 with a 2 year service plan. Lowest jack I've seen at 2-7/8's inch.

I have three Craftsman floor jacks. The one I use most is a 1 1/2 ton aluminum low profile jack - don't recall exactly what it cost.

Curious question....has anyone ever used, or have any advise on using, a 'motorcycle' type jack to get the rear up?

Just picked up a new harbor freight jack tonight to replace my old one.
I picked up this one. Dual parallel pump lifting mechanism.
I used the 20% off coupon to pay for their replacement plan. I can take it back whenever in 2 years and 3 months and get a new one for whatever reason. I did that because my last Harbor Freight one crapped out on me. Started leaking oil. As soon as it went up, oil went out. Maybe I can rebuild it - but it gave me 4+ years of service.
