The reason that I was thinking of doing this was because I was looking into buy the borla system that had no exhaust anyways so why not save myself $400.00.
will be too loud and the drone is awful. I bought a car with the mufflers removed and the Borla race (straight) pipes installed. I had to install mufflers to pass inspection in PA, so check your local inspection laws as well.
I am currently running that particular setup because of funding. It is loud but if you dont mind it, its not that bad. The only drawback in doing this is the motorboat sound that it will give out. Other than that, I would not change a thing. I will probably be looking for borla straights to replace these for a quality tip and install a x-pipe to get rid of the motorboat. Good luck with your choice!
seems like it would be better to do the "bypass mod" where a short
piece of pipe is welded into the bend before/after the muffler.. have seen several on here that liked the sound - and your muffler shop could likely do it for not a lot of $$. I think straight pipes would be too loud.
i live in your area, and if you'll take the bet, i'll bet you'll be ticketed within the first week by metro dade or FHP with straight pipes. you name the price, lol. i've had friends with straight "lake pipes" on a 4 cyl PT cruiser get ticketed driving around with them open. as they say, it's your funeral.
if you want loud, try electric cut out or bullets they are really loud and you can try to make an argument with the cop that you do in fact have mufflers and it is the "high performance" exhaust option, lol.
