I think TPSMak offers a shaved seat option which may help with this. I am not sure how others have installed there seats on the stock brackets.

The Corbeau seat barckets mount to the seat with 4 bolts, and the seat bracket mounts in the car with 4 bolts. Super easy to install.
I like the automatic retract (pull-back / reverse) feature when open the door - makes it waser to get in and out - especially if the seats has larger bolsters. I;m guessing this is an option some might want to physically sit it, to make a proper determination.

FWIW - My wife's S-Class has Drive Dynamic seats ... the side bolsters automatically inflate and deflate, depending on which way you are turning, and how fast you are driving ... it keeps you from sliding around in the seats! That'd be nice ... then again ... it has two heating options, three cooling options, pulsing lumbar massage, and all sort of power movements. For me ... I say, screw the weight!

YUP... seats are a very important part of performance driving.. if you have supportive seats you will be constantly fighting to stay in the seats instead of being firmly planted in the seat and keeping your focus on driving the car.

On a C5 they are pretty easy. On a C6 they are not hard also IF you are willing to use harness belts. If you have a C6 and want to use the stock belts then it will be a much harder install.

Yes you would lose the power seat adjustments but you would lose quite a bit of weight with a manual bracket over power bracket. Also, since you are so tall I would HIGHLY recommend the shaved base option for you to gain an extra 1" in head room.

If your interested in a set please let me know as we have sold AND install more Corbeau seats into Corvettes than any shop

$640 is about what 2 cloth seats would costs. You would also need to have sest brackets which would be another $120 each.

I would like a price for just driver side FX1 with the mounting hardwar in black with the red center to match my stock passenger seat colors to 90744. I have a C5 Z06. I am 6 ft. 37" waist at 185 lb. My helmet just clears with the stock seat and I would be OK with that. Will this combo work for me?

The FX1 Pro maybe a tight fit for you as Corbeau states the FX1 Pro is for 36" waste and below. Do you mind a sung & tight fit?

I have the A4's in leather with lumbar support. I took a trip to Ohio last year of about 8 hours each way. The seats were great. Even Mrs. WKMCD liked them the entire time.

C5s do not have any "passenger presence" seat sensors on any model. Only the C6s have that feature and it is for two-stage airbag deployment purposes, which is something else the C5s do not have.

You'll have no issues in that regard. The pass. side airbag in a C5 goes off regardless if the seat is empty or not.

HOLY crap ! GM should be ashamed of them selves for putting such CRAPPY seats in the Corvette.

Tonight was the first time in the 6 years that I have owned my Z06, that I truly felt this car's capabilities. I'm dead serious ! I never realized how much fighting to stay composed in my seat took away from being able to REALLY drive this car hard. I hit turns tonight that I have never hit that hard before, and I felt VERY confidant in doing so. My confidence level in driving my car hard is increased 100 fold ! I was pulling some serious "G's" tonight and I was absolutely glued in my seat the whole time ! What an absolute thrill ! I should have done this mod a LONG time ago !

I was going under a bridge doing a U turn. I was going way faster than I ever have before, and I felt very confidant doing it. When I came to the 90 degree turn to turn onto the service road I could feel that the car was going to slide. I could just feel it. I felt "one" or "connected" with the car. If that makes sense. I anticipated the slide, and let it happen, and accelerated thru it. I drifted the rear end as I entered onto the service road, as the tail swung out on me. I accelerated and it came back straight, and I just punched it. I wish I had a video of that . I NEVER felt so comfortable driving like that before in this car EVER ! It just felt effortless.

Corbeau says that only up to a 36" waist will fit in the standard seat. Don't worry if your a little bigger. I fit like a glove !

I am:
1.) 6ft
2.) 210lbs
3.) Waist 38" around
4.) Chest 41" around
5.) Shoulders 48" around

- I would say that I could be a little bigger in the shoulders and still be ok.
- I think a tiny bit bigger in the chest would be ok also.
- I think being much bigger around in the waist would be an issue.

I fit in the lower seat back quite snug. I gotta lay off the soda...

I am also very impressed with the looks of the seats. I really think they compliment the interior of my Z06. They look like race seats like the Z06 should have. I hit them with Zaino leather in a bottle, and they are looking and smelling great !

If your looking for a performance mod..... I highly recommend this as a performance mod. You will never drive your car the same. I can promise you that !!!

Corvette Forum Vendor "TPSMak" (Mike) can hook you up like he did with me !

Looks great.
Thanks !

Super easy install... 4 bolts on the seat base to the Corbeau bracket. 4 bolts to mount it in the car. Done ! Maybe a hour or so to install. Maybe add another 15 mins cause I soaked them in Zaino Leather in a bottle.

I did spend a little time vacuuming under the old seats too.

They are not heated.

Be sure to lay down a thick towel on your door sill so as not to scratch it when removing/installing seats.

Its honestly a worth while performance upgrade. Yea... I said performance... I could never take turns as hard as I can now with the stock seats. I never have felt so connected to the car as I do now.
