Was going down the road and the 2000 automatic had what could best be described as an electrical hiccup.
It's like everything died and then came back up a split second later. Gauges went crazy, got a couple of service messages, a couple of warning lights (ABS and traction thing) and iPod skipped. But the car kept going.
I agree with checking the battery terminals and will add the starter solenoid connection as well. Two more things will also cause this. The ignition switch itself...and a wire in the doorjam accordian tube that is known to short to ground. Grab the accordian tube and give it a good shake while your ignition is on and see if anything messes up.
I have had problems with the current Red Top and the terminals. I think the positive was stripped when the battery was installed (over tightened) and I have a very slight leak that I have to stay on top of. I had to install new posts and get rid of the plastic red cover that sits over the post.
