I've been on the fence on what to do with long tubes of late (and for posing this question... after all how many header threads do we need?).
After doing a ton of research here on the forum all I am left with is more uncertainty. The search yielded a lot of header threads but from 8 years ago! Not sure why.
I'm looking for a good LT header that will give me the best useable power for a daily summer driven street car that might see the occasional trip to the 1/4 track. I am not concerned about peak numbers but am looking for something that will have good "under the curve" numbers. I want something that will work well with my 3200 Yank converter and 3.42 gears plus sound really good. I have a Borla Stinger exhaust with Borla x-pipe and would like the headers to add some extra "meanness" to the car but something that won't be overkill on those summer road trips.
Any feedback, recommendations or thoughts?
Thanks!

LG Streets with high flow cats...... Very nice usable power (tourque) gain and very nice sound enhancment
You're going to get as many opinions as there are header manufacturers. Plus, you will get varying dyno numbers among installations of the same brand....pretty open ended question.
Not too many people (if any) have installed multiple brands/manufactures of headers to do comparisons.
any long tube headers will get you what your looking for. What you need to decide on is what you want to spend. I would buy a set that people report back "good fit" because if you have fit problems, it's a bitch to work through.
I say do it , I am happy that I did even though the install was a pain in the @$$ ( just because of limited lifting equipment ) .I bought the OBX and they came with everything that I needed X-pipe and all . A thought for you is that you could sell your X-pipe and not have as much cash in your new complete header x pipe setup !
Right now it seems like I'm trying to choose between LG and Dynatech. I can get a great deal on the Dynatechs but don't mind spending the money on something more "top notch" if it is worth it. LG seems to recommend the LG Streets for my application. Anyone with this setup and Borla Stingers know how these sound and perform?
Just get LT's any brand you like/can afford and call it a day. I recommend getting them ceramic coated, they'll look good for years. You will not regret getting them
I am very happy with my OBX setup
shipped over 100 sets of these now and only one issue and that was a collector that was welded wrong. OBX took care of it and replaced it for the customer.

Hey Rob, I'd recommend American Racing Headers, I got a set from 2kool for my 02 Camaro and they are top notch! Or Champion Motors... I believe carrys LG headers.

I have been using the XS Power headers for 3 years and have not had a single problem ( not coated I like the burnt look). Half the price and great gains. Im made 413rwhp before my FAST 92 setup with bolt ons and a cam.
It will come down to personal preference and your wallet - there are the very top of the line like ARH, Kooks etc.
"BUT" I have watched many tests and Dyno runs with different headers and some yeilding only a few HP more than the others - which is minimal for some of the exobitant prices out there.
Get one that offers a package deal like LT's, Hiflow cats & X-pipe for a price you can afford
C5Bearsfan has OBX at a good price,,,and Superman09 has a new line coming out XS Power (made in the USA) that also look good and are priced good too!! Both are worth a look!!
I had LG Streets on a 02 Z06 that I sold. I now have another 02 Z06 with TPIS headers on it. I noticed a bit more seat of the pants improvemnet with the LG's. To the credit of the car I sold, it only had 16k miles on it. When I put the TPIS set on my current car it had 74k miles. Not sure if thats a factor or not, just thought Id add that info.

I have LG streets w/ the Borla exhaust and I love it. Get off the fence, you will love it.
I think I am leaning towards the LG Pros - just in case I decide to forgo a C6 and S/C the C5. I am curious as to the sound between LG and Dynatech. One person I talked to with the Dynatechs said the car didn't get any louder. I want something a bit louder and a bit meaner.
