OK, I've had my car for about a year and have noticed that the MPH letters in the middle of the speedometer are sometimes brighter than other times, can someone tell me why that is? I could probably find it in the manual somewhere but I don't want to. Thanks.
Yeah, but it's just the MPH that changes and usually in broad daylight. I thought maybe when it lit up you were getting better than average mpg or something crazy like that.

When your dash lights are off, the MPH is still illuminated and therefore the sensor will still adjust the brightness.
Yep, I noticed that too and had heard the sensor will change it. Note that your heads up display will get VERY bright when you drive toward the sun when it is low. Pretty cool....
intersting! I've always wondered why that one particular indicator stays on when you turn the dimmer all the way down. never noticed it getting brighter with ambient light. why doesn't anything else change brightness? strange.
I've caught it out of the corner of my eye-it SEEMED to get brighter(or dimmer),but I've never been looking at it when it actually changed.
Good to know I'm not just imagining things-I just thought these old eyes were playing tricks on me....
