My transmission works great clutch is fine and shifting into and out of all the gears are not a problem however when I try to get into reverse it makes more effort to push into reverse. I had this problem on my 02 Camaro SS and it seems that it was a speedo sensor could this be the same problem? All help is appreciated.
I have an 02 Z06 and mine does the exact same thing, the only thing I can do it let the clutch out a little until it slides in, I think the syncronizers are having issues.
I always put the stick in third gear, first before going into reverse. It's a habit I had when I had my 68 and I continue to do the same thing with my C5.
the guys above right about getting it into gear right now-follow those tips. My car was doing what you describe so I changed the tranny (and diff) fluid and it helped the problem a lot. its not perfect but I rarely have to let the clutch out to get into reverse anymore. easy DIY if you have a hand pump, jack stands and the search function (for a write up) on CF good luck and let me know if you have any questions about the fluid change.
I have the same problem and I've read up on the issue. As common as it is, I don't feel it's a real issue. Shifting into first or third will make it very smooth.
yea, i read that somtime ago when i drove the blue oval type of car, shifting into first or third stops the syncros from spinning or lines them up somthing like that, anyway thats what i do as well
