The driver's side occasionally does not automatically lock/unlock. I can tell the remote and door button are working but appears it's just not being thrown. Some days works fine others days not. I've only owned the car for about a month and this just started recently. I'm thinking is proably an actuator starting to fail. Any common issues with these and a they fairly straightforward to replace?

Bakersfield is the expert on this one but I'll add my 0.02c
The lock rod is not as commonly reporteed here as the door lock module. I had a door lock module fail early on and it was replaced under warranty. It's almost certainly the relays in the module IMHO. Try hitting the door at about the point where the module sits. Strange but true! Known around here as "percussion treatment"! If it clears the problem, chances are its the sticky relay.
I sometimes have problems with the same lock now. It's not bad and I can live with it but a module or relay change is well within most DIYers capabilities.
All you need is in Bakersfield's thread.

That's some good stuff. Coming from muscle cars recently into the C-5 era I thought it could possibly be something more intricate than the common issues I've dealt with. Very glad I asked and thanks for all the valualbe tips.
Never would have known something that intricate was behind the door panel.
