do you think you can convience the manufacture to make the off road pipe without the resonators? Car is too quiet compaired to the LT's that I took off.
There is a very noticable difference in tone and loudness compaired to my last one. I think it is just the tone when in accleration that Im not caring for as much. Dont get me wrong, they are still a great setup, just the wrong tone for my car.

PM sent, sounds like you need to ditch that factory catback if you want it to sound pissed off!

+1
If you check my youtube (youtube.com/cptinjak) you'll find lots of vids with this setup. There are vids on the track with open x-pipe, and on the street with the XSPower catback installed. I get compliments everywhere i go on how nasty it sounds. Most people cant believe it is an all stock motor after they hear it at WOT.
With the XSPower catted LTs and XSPower catback, i was measured at 114 decibles from ~10 yards at a local college's car show "Loud Exhaust Competition." Not sure how accurate the meter was, but it was good enough for second place, beating out a dumped 427 ford in a drag car, a fully built drag dsm with a 67mm turbo dumping straight to atmosphere out the fender, and others.
When you put your foot in it, there is nothing about the XSPower setup that i would consider "quiet" or "polite". When you just want to cruise, though, its pretty much as quiet as stock inside the car.
Sorry for the sales pitch, just had to give my .02!

Alright guys.....here's some details of my install today!
I'll be honest, these babys weren't easy: getting in the headers was a pain and I tried both from the top and bottom, untill I was able to somehow wiggle them both in from the bottom.....that was the hardest part. HOWEVER, once in, everything was cake. Then again, fitting in headers do take time and patience....
The only thing I wish I had were larger clamps for the after-cat pipes (as the ones supplied were too small to fit) so I used the U-bolt clamps (also supplied, although bulkier than the regular clamps). Everything else was easy, and fit and finish are great!
NOW....THE SOUND: I had B&B Bullets prior, and now mated to my XS-Power catted headers, I noticed DRONE DECREASED TO ALMOST NONE! not to mention, the sound is muuuuuch smoother now and is definitely louder after 2k ......I can say I am very satisfied with the overall results and thank Jon again for great customer service!

Sounds good! Send me a PM about the clamps, as mentioned earlier there was a mix up there and I will get you set-up for the correct size
After reading this entire thread I am about ready to pull the trigger on these great looking headers. I do have a couple of questions. My Vette is a 2000 coupe.
1. I installed a cat back system with x pipe from Magnaflow some time ago. I selected these because they give a serious growl note under acceration but mellow out at cruise, i.e no drone inside of car. So having said that I would like to add the headers but am concerned that I may pick up a drone noise at any cruise speed. Others that have installed these state no drone, just want to confirm that.
2. Any problems that I should be aware of bolting up this system to the Magnaflow mufflers?
My Vette is kind of stock with a Blackwing and the Magnaflow. I installed a 2003 intake and injectors from a Z06 some time ago as well. Use iridumn plugs and Taylor wires. Car runs strong. Dyno'd at 319 at the wheels with just the mentioned items. My future plans are for the headers and (a supercharger; Wife permitting). With the current setup I get 31 MPG and can boil the tires. Love my C5.
I considered OBX but after looking at the comparison photo's of the XS and OBX I am personally convinced the XS are the headers I will get.
Also the response to other forum members and support speak tons for XS.

If this Magnaflow system you have REQUIRES you using their X-pipe and will not bolt up to the factory H-pipe, then it won't directly bolt up here. This longtube header system is designed to end where the stock H-pipe ends so if you have a catback that bolts up to the stock H-pipe it will bolt perfectly up to this system Check out the pictures, should make sense easier than words by looking as well. Drone is typically caused by the catback, so if you are not experiencing drone now, that shouldn't change by adding this system.

See above

Thanks for the reply. I should have no problem with the XS system bolting right in because the Magnaflow mufflers can bolt to the OEM pipes. I did look at the photo's Again thanks for the reply. Do we order directly from the web site? Mention we are forum members?

Ordering right off the site works best, just place the order and if you want to leave your CF user name in the notes it makes it easier for me to get you your tracking info
What kind of gains are expected with an otherwise stock 02 Z06 using the factory Z06 catback?
Gains are similar to any longtube header system you would bolt on. You can expect anywhere from 15-30 rw hp/tq. many variables come into specific results but these are a necessary building block mod to increase gains from future and other mods done on the car. You will gain MORE with additional mods done to the car with having longtubes on

My car gained 2.5mph in the 1/4 with absolutely no other mods, and no tune.
How does it run without the tune? Did you go with cats or no cats? Im assuming it threw a code?
runs fine without a tune, however you will gain optimal power, drive-ability, and fuel economy with a tune. An offroad system will throw a code for no cats but a catted system should be code-less
How does it run without the tune? Did you go with cats or no cats? Im assuming it threw a code?
The car runs just fine without a tune with my catted XSPower LTs. I throw P420 and P430 (left and right rear o2 codes) occasionally, only after sitting in traffic and idling for extended periods. This could be from a combination of the headers and the fact that I removed the EGR system while I installed them, and never had it tuned. (I throw the P410 about every other time I drive it, but it is so easy to clear the code I have never bothered to get it tuned. takes me about 3 seconds on the DIC buttons).
