splash guards
anyone using splash guards on their c5s? not sure if i need them or not. i use mine as a DD so i don't want to get it all crapped up.
if so, what kind and any pics?

There have been a number of members that have adapted the C6 Z06 guards onto the C5 and also Altec makes some body colored ones for the C5. Places like Eclkers and Mid-America have the Altec's.

It did a set on mine this spring. I went with the "slim" look like another forum member did. I did a ton of research and actually ended up doing this mod twice. Everything I learned is in my thread:

I'm using the Apsis in the rear. IMHO they look great and protect the fender. They are a bit pricey but they do fit very well and look good doing it!
PS: they also make them for the front fenders I believe.

I recently purchased the Apsis rears @ $100 a quarter they are a bit pricey but, after destroying a set of C6Z06's it became very clear I have no fabrication skills. I decided I wasn't going to throw another $100. plus down the toilet on trying to improve my less average skillls.

Apsis also makes these. They require no drilling. They are black plastic splash guards with pre-drilled holes in the front guards that line up with the stock wheel well liner screw holes. They install in minutes using the existing screws and are hardly noticeable, especially on a Black car. They don't extend too far past the rocker panels to cause clearance problems like many other splash guards do.
The rears install with built in clips and pre-applied 3M tape strips. I only use the front splash guards. I also use Cleartastic film for added protection.

WCC has the C6 type for the C5, for $159, I'm going for them. I installed C6 Z06 Rims and went with the 1" wider front and rear. Tires come up right to the edge of the fender, so I kick up stuff right to the outside... My only concern is there is some adjustment, I'm not sure if that means using a dremel tool to trim the guards as if I'm installing actual C6 splash guards.... will call and get confirmation.

Base C6 guards work as well. Not as effective, but less expensive and subtle. Fronts will be a direct fit, rears will require minimal shaving.
To get them to sit flush, I used black-painted stainless screws since the mounting tape included just wasn't doing the job.
