Default head light module

what exactly does the module behind the passenger side head light bucket control? i replaced the head light gears and now the lights won't come up sometimes. switch on lights on but do not pop up. cycle the switch a few times one or both may eventually come up. could this be the module?

I was going to suggest fuse #6 on the footwell panel but thats not the culprit if it eventually works. My guess would be the headlight switch on the stalk.

As a start buy some electronics cleaner and spray the switch well. If it gets better there's the issue. Eventually though - assuming that's it - you'll probably need to change it. If it's not that, the next one to check would be the hazard switch. Both well know for failing.

the head lights come on but they do not open, would this be a stalk problem? i would think that if either switch was going bad nothing work, lights or light doors??

As you can see from the wiring diagram, the multi function switch controls the headlamp door modules so this is quite common when the switch fails. I'd still give it a slug of cleaner first and cycle it vigorously to see if you can clean it up. Its been known to work.
