Is this going anywhere. I was actually thinking this tonight then found this thread. I have a couple ideas floating around, but don' think the places I found the stuff at are supporting vendors.

I think I will be throwing a set of corner lights in the over here pretty soon.

Forgot all about this. Been so busy with work. I'll see if I can get some good photoshops of this idea soon. May start tonight if my GF is too busy with her work.

The problem i've found is that the lens lip tends to melt about the same time as the glue that holds the lens to the body.

I found that out also... But I suspected as much anyway as I'm sure you did too George.

Out supplier can't seem to eb able to get us housings with the lenses not glued on already so... Here we sit!

I'm waiting on a few boned up housings form the LED strip side of the house to play with, I'll try cutting one open with a Dremel...

I've tried and failed as well. are we even sure they are glued? it kind of looks like they are sonic bonded or something like that. in which case it makes perfect sense, the plastic is fused together and the amount of heat necessary to melt that bond is the melting point of the plastic itself.

some careful work with a dremel should be able to get them apart. then silicone to seal them back together. have to blow out the pieces otherwise you'll be able to see them. if you have any luck post up what you find.

Yeah Im thinking dremel as well. Slow and steady. Only problem i have is that I think this would look alot better if we did em with clear corners as the lenses are smooth I believe. The stockers have like ridges in the actual lens. Tstar or george im sure you've had quite a few pairs (insert joke here) in your hands so maybe you could comment. I would just hate to figure this out on a set of stockers but really want to do this mod to the clear corners to find out they are made totally different. Also, the aftermarket ones seems a little more flimsy too. I have a really great idea for this but don't wanna let the cat outta the bag just yet until I have all the parts.
