Our corvettes are so low how many of you have scrapes on the underneath of your front bumpers. Anyone have any ideas how to protect your from bumper ( I know don't scrape it, but sometimes that hard not to do).
I saw advertised on Corvette Guy's a product that some what looks like rollers you attach to the underneath radiator supports, anyone try these

No scrapes on mine (yet), but I am also very, very careful when it comes to parking my car. I do run a front bra on mine and if I did happen to hit the front end on a curb or something, I would hope the vinyl on the bra would help keep the scratches off.
The biggest culprits are the parking blocks and sometimes even the sidewalk curbs. I've never scraped the lower front bumper (knock on wood), however I have scraped up the lower aluminum arms where the Fatt Mommas or Fatt Daddys (wheels) would be installed. What amazes me is how many times I thought I was far enough away from the parking block/curb only to get out a realize I was a lot closer and sometimes over the block/curb. Sometimes the clearance was less than a finger width, thus no lowering for me...
Mine has scrapes, though from the original owner. I have not hit anything yet. I definitely think a lowered 'vette looks better but the tradeoffs just don't seem to make it worth it.
3m makes a great product, not at home to give a number. Comes in rolls, it is a thick clear plastic, works rather well, can even double it up sometimes, its hard to install without air bubbles. (little soapy water and squeegee/fixes that) You can put it on the bottom of your rockers also. You see it on cars a lot, like on the bottom of the dogleg (front of wheelwell) where stones tend to hit from sticking out a little farther than the door. Really cant notice once installed and after it has taken its abuse, a heat gun and it peels right off then replace. In the process of repainting my car and it is definitely going on...
Let this old timer give you gents an old corvette owner’s tip on preventing front end scrapes.
What I do is flip the headlights up. This gives you a better reference as to where the front end is. Always works for me...no scrapes.

Hi,
Heres the best way to protect your Skid Plates. This is a new innovative product from SacCityCorvette.
They are called Fangs and give you the best full coverage protection available for the C5 and C6.
Here is a link with a couple videos of us beating them
up but not really hurting them. http://www.saccitycorvette.com/See-t...n-Action-.html
our cars are pretty short compared to parking spaces I usally leave about a foot in front of all my cars not just the vette munis the z71 I park it with one tire on the curb but really in a car there is no point of pulling all the way up since the back is already far outta the way.
I understand development and all that, but $55 for $1 worth of material...
I’m very happy with the $55 I spent for the outstanding performance and protection I receive from my Fangs. I understand $55 is a lot to some people but my thinking is that if we spend so much money on our Corvettes in the first place we should protect a $600 replacement part for only $55. If you think the price is too high then don’t buy it and keep you rude comments to yourself. Honestly do you think it only cost $1 for these, with the free packaging and shipping they include or are you really that ignorant? Just saying
