What's wrong with a high polish wheel, and what's wrong with reproduction wheels? there's much more variety, than the expensive three piece wheels and a lot cheaper!.
Originally I wanted Y2K thin spokes, but after reading all the threads about cracks I got discouraged and afraid to buy any. I want 0EM wheels and don't have alot of extra cash right now due to medical bills. Does anybody have any nice wheels for sale other than chrome turds that are OEM and won't crack?
Ive had chromed OEM thin spokes on my C5 Coupe since 2001 with no problems....Also have them on my C5 Convertible...90K miles...NO problems...I think a lot has to do with how you drive it...

If you have original GM wheels and they are chrome, then either the dealer had them chromed after receiving the car or one of the previous owners of the car did that. GM did not offer chrome wheels from the factory on any of the C5 cars. They only offered high polished, painted and magnesium wheels.
That said, I do think the wagon wheels look pretty good when they are chromed. Not as good as the 5-spoke, but much better than just the painted version.

I put factory polished thin spokes on my 99 and dumped the ugly wagon wheels. Had them on the car for 5 years and there's no cracks..Look for a set in the C5 parts for sale, ebay, or try to get to Corvettes of Carlisle next month(tons of used/new vette parts!!)
I like mine I just added the wagon wheel mod decals and they look pretty damm good and durable and easy to take care of no complaints here. Chrome or powder coated

My NONCHROME wagon wheels have GM stamped in the outside
Have 8 of them. 4 on the car and 4 in the garage I got to replace one with an internal rim crack. Every one has GM stamped near the bolt holes. As I remember on the outside. The label posted on page one is probably inside the wheel and can only be seen if you demount the tire.
Thinking of picking up a set of chrome wagon wheels and have found a set at a good price. They are chrome and owner said they are original wheels made in usa. Wouldn't these wheels have a gm part number on them if they were original gm wheels? He said they have usa stamped on them. Thanks for any help, Jk
