Default wagon wheels

Thinking of picking up a set of chrome wagon wheels and have found a set at a good price. They are chrome and owner said they are original wheels made in usa. Wouldn't these wheels have a gm part number on them if they were original gm wheels? He said they have usa stamped on them. Thanks for any help, Jk

There are no factory chromed wagons. They were probably chromed after purchase, or they're replicas (if they ever produced wagon replicas).

I know there were no crome wagons, I just wanted to know how to ID replica's versus GM's. I know they did make replicas of those and there is a site that does still sell them. JK

This is NOT true, the chrome wagon wheels were produced as a factory option....actually, I just took off the originals my 1997 coupe came out with.

I went w/ C6 Z06 Deep Dish wheels....debating selling these, if you're interested, let me know. They are in real good shape, especially if you consider they are 13 years old. They are not perfect, but darn good condition.

BTW, the GM part # right off the back of my 18" rim is 9592525 and it does state "USA" on one of the arms. Didn't check the part # on the 17's, but trust me, these are original and in real good shape.

If I can't sell them, I'll just keep them in case I ever decide to go back to stock.

Thanks, I am going to look at the chrome wagons on Saturday. I thought that chrome wagon wheels were not an option. These are supposed to be in excellent condition, but if not I will keep you in mind. Thanks again for the clarification.

My '99 coupe came with factory chrome wagon wheels. I replaced them earlier in the year. Too bad you are not closer to Clayton. One of these days I'll get off my duff and hopefully sell them.

Then tell us what the RPO code is for your "Factory chrome" wheels.

It should be right there on your glove box sticker.

We'll wait.

A chrome turd is still a turd ....Put on a set of Y2K thin spokes (JMO)

I had my factory polished Y2Ks chromed by West Coast Corvettes!!

Dude, I would....but my glove box latch is broken and I don't like to mess w/ it.

Perhaps someone else could look up the code? I kid you not, I have my factory chromies sitting in my garage, just took them off a week ago.

Why would you have polished wheels chromed?

There were NO FACTORY CHROMED WHEELS for any C5 Corvettes.

None listed in The Corvette Black Book.

There were many Dealers who got Factory Wheels chromed and sold them as options on new cars, but these are not Factory Options.

Have a feeling folks, like myself, may be getting polished aluminum mixed up with chrome.

Everyone that I know of that had them were chromed either by the dealer or after they bought the car. And the "Blue Book" doesn't list them as an option.

Originally I wanted Y2K thin spokes, but after reading all the threads about cracks I got discouraged and afraid to buy any. I want 0EM wheels and don't have alot of extra cash right now due to medical bills. Does anybody have any nice wheels for sale other than chrome turds that are OEM and won't crack?
