Yes Bill but but unfortunately it had an unpredictable side effect that I have been suffering from ever since...my wifey took a pic right after the incident Warmest wishes,

Kenny, have you been lying again? The nose doesn't lie.
Yeah it's good stuff, not only does it clean stainless, but it also polishes it.. it's cheap, under two dollars , most super markets have it in the cleaning isle.. close to cleansers.
I am indeed a wealth of useless information
ET,
I have an '08 that I run pipes open always 40,000 miles, and the center two pipes are carbon baked. I have tried various methods to clean but to little avail. Last I tried Cerama Bright Ceramic/Glass counter top cleaner and it did help but only 50% there. Will Barkeepers take me all the way home?
Mine were stained, somehow, from the sooty exhaust water coming out (They came that way when I traded out my mufflers for some that had been modded) and I had no luck with Cermabrite, Brasso, or any other cleaner. I finally resorted to using a Dremel tool and polishing compound to get them cleaned up. Once shiny again, I hit them with a coat of Armor All Wheel Protectant, which some have reported as working well to keep them clean.
Edit: Whoops I accidentally ended up on the wrong thread. Well, I did the same the to the mufflers on my C5Z.

Hmmm...I will keep that in mind. I have the original Borla Stingers and I can simply spray them with Simple Green and everything runs right off...no scrubbing at all. My new Borlas..not so much
Did the BKF today and the results were UNBELIEVABLE! I am all in! Thank you for the key! This is the BEST idea for a cure and is low, low cost and trouble!
I will be getting BKF the next time I am at the store so I can give it a try.
I have been using Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and it works great.
Post up some pictures.
Yes, I am twisted but I like it when the tips shine.
Dealer had several brand new exhausts that were removed on delivery and replaced with custom exhausts. I paid labor and he gave me the exhausts (Mufflers and tail pipes) for no charge. Simply use an old cotton towel when I wash the car and it removes the carbon at the tip ends. No exotic exhaust tip cleaners needed.
BIGHANK
I found some all purpose polish/cleaner in a motorcycle shop called "Boms Away", it will do aluminum, chrome, stainless, copper and more. Its quick, easy and leaves the best finish I have ever gotten from a metal polish/cleaner...google it.
i found out that a pcv oil catch can all but eliminates this problem. i used to wipe the black junk running out of the pipes almost daily. it does take a little while for previous contamination to clear out.
