Default Clean exhust tips!

I applied a product called Rejex to my exhaust tips in 2008 when I got the car. For quite a while I was able to simply dust off the carbon and soot. I never reapplied the product. However, recently I noticed that it was more and more difficult to remove the black carbon deposits from the tips. Not too long ago I heard from a forum member who had used a product called "Barkeepers Friend " to clean his exhaust tips. I tried it and it is fantastic! It took me a total of about 15 minutes to clean them so that they look new! I will apply several new coats of Rejex and hopefully I'll not have to clean them for a while.

Hmmm...I will keep that in mind. I have the original Borla Stingers and I can simply spray them with Simple Green and everything runs right off...no scrubbing at all. My new Borlas..not so much

Yeah it's good stuff, not only does it clean stainless, but it also polishes it.. it's cheap, under two dollars , most super markets have it in the cleaning isle.. close to cleansers.

I am indeed a wealth of useless information

I bought a polishing kit and didn't get good results. I tried using 0000 steel wool and that helped but one of my tips, the one I used the polishing kit on, doesn't have that mirror finish anymore. What did I do wrong? Any help is appreciated.

I bought an exhaust tip cleaning kit from a vendor here on the forum.

My tips REALLY needed it.

This kit did a good job, but I later found what I think is a better kit at Widgetsupply.com for about the same $$$$.

Ask for John.

For some reason Windex makes me sneeze a lot...maybe if I held my breath or wore a mask while using it I wouldn't sneeze?
