I took my '01 coupe in to the dealership today with A/C problems. Turned out it was the compressor needed to be replaced. Not sure what the actual charge will be at this point, as they won't have it completed until tomorrow. I do know that all I will pay is $100.00, gotta love the extended warranty. In fact the service writer told me when he called that the warranty company even authorized a rental car if needed. I expect the total fee with labor and all should be around $1200.00 maybe a little more.
Hi There,

It is not a GM warranty. I purchased my '01 4 years ago and also purchased the warranty at the same time. I got what is called the Supreme Warranty and it covered everything for 4 years or 48,000 miles minus the normal wear and tear items like brakes, tires, hoses and so on. The cost was $1600 and I have used it three times. So it has paid for itself.

Good thing you had the extended warranty - probably just about paid for itself with this one repair. Many don't care for extended warranties, but so far, I've got my money and more out of them more times than not.
As I stated, my EW was for 4 years or 48K miles and it was $1,600. Todays total was 1466.51 minus the $100 deductable I paid. I have also had it in for the column lock and also for a wheel sensor. Needless to say they (warranty company) did not make any money on me.
