Interchangable ABS Modules???
ABS-5/TCS/MSVA2
DELCO ELECTRONICS
MODEL: 16257049
LARGE "M" ON RIGHT SIDE OF NUMBERS
Can I exchange mine with this model?
2000 C5
ABS-5/tcs/msva
Delphi D
Model : 0935691
I has a large M on the right side of the numbers
Will this work or am I out of luck?

In 98 Active Handling was a $500 option.
You should also be able to press and hold down the traction control button and trigger the "Competition Mode" display on the DIC.

So I guess it doesn't have Active handling?
Does that mean Phanni's module will work on mine?
Sorry for all the questions. First C5 and still learning.

In the front or the rear?

I just picked up one from a member who pulled the very "EXACT" same Module off an "EARLY" model 1998 (Like mine) mounted in the rear, 50,000 miles on it.
The Module has the same number as yours, 16257049 ABS-5/TCS/MSVA2 M,
His ABS Pump motor is the same as mine having the same part number on it 10409125, but this Module has all the same options as mine, that is With"OUT" Active handling (JL9 Option).
My original Module part number is:
16268689 ABS-5/TCS/MSVA2 M
This is making me think that if it does not have Active handling (JL9 Option) and the Module has the same ABS-5/TCS/MSVA2 M number on then it should work "AND" the Black Module clip(Where the wiring harness plugs into) has the same pattern and part number on it - 16258747 then we should be good.
If for one reason it does not work for me (I am hoping it should) I can release it to you.
CONCLUSION: at this point it looks as if the NON-ACTIVE Handling Modules with the same ABS-5/TCS/MSVA2 M numbers then they should work.
EXTRA- On mine currently I have re-soldered all my joints on the board, I am going to continuity test every connection and try to map it out and color code each solder point on the module, on a pic I took. Here is a thread with some pics of the Board: remember we can "ONLY" get to the one side and not the other, you can see the processor (big sqaure shinny thing)

Here they are, these are all interchangeable and are succession numbers for our Nettes with NON-ACTIVE Handling (Non-JL4):Point to remember: All these are "OUT" of PRODUCTION and can't be bought new anymore
ABS-5/TCS/MSVA2 M (Non-JL4)
GM 16268689
GM 16257049
New GM # (Aparent replacement, but out of production
)GM 19244085
AC DELCO:
9367071
9350153
9353611
9356961
That's it and all these are "OUT" of production, "BUT" they are all interchangeable
We can only find ones that are used and in good working condition.I mapped out the back side of my ABS Module - it is a work in progress but all the colors that match are where they "CONTINUITY" tested out along a path.
The other side of our Modules are sunk in epoxy (I.E.- our Processor and the rest of the boards little electrical parts) on the '99's and up these little parts on the opposite side are accessable, due to not being sunk in epoxy like ours are

The Black/White DOTS that overlap are GROUND - I resoldered all the joints just to be sure there were no cracks in them and making full contact.
I re-did it all and then reinstalled it, took it for a 15 mile test drive and then BAMM it happened again, Lights came on TCS/ABS on the DIC and got the codes C1255 and C1256 "Internal Malfunction" which is the kiss of death for these. And then it came up in the diagnostic - TCS - NO COMM.
bummer, I was really hoping this would work.I believe it is the "Processor" (Big Square Shinny Thing)
that is loosing communication, or lets say overheating/heating up and taking a dump! It reminds me of a PC that I had that did the same thing when it got hot, turn it off, let it cool down, turn back on warm up, work well for a while then the processor would take a dump computer act freaky.Onto the pics: 1st one module unsoldered/stock:

2nd Pic Power, Comm, Ground, and a couple other goodies mapped out:

Remember: This is a work in progress, when I get it off again I will test more junk on it. I don't know what all the resistors are supposed to OHM out to or for etc. But this is a start
Thanks,Matt

My December 98 built 99 coupe has the following original EBTCM:
ABS-5/TCS/MSVA
Large "M"
Delphi D 09356961
I have also seen the top line have MSVA2 or MSVA3 so I wonder if those are generations or releases.
Could those whose modules have failed please post which generation they have? IE... MSVA would be the first, MSVA2 the second and so on...
It might help if we capture which version failed of the Delphia 09356961 part number so we don't buy another unit of the same vintage if it is prone to failure. (just a thought)
Mine is still working perfectly and I haven't had any issues. I don't have active handling (JL-4 RPO)
Sad, but someone will buy these eventually... for over a grand each
