How are you going to get a 17" tire on a 18" rim ? Stock bolt just cut the bushing.

Im looking to do the same thing, Ive done the rear, but I dont wanna mess this the stock front bolts.

My question is should I do c5 lowering bolts or the c6 ones from a place like zip:

Thanks for any help

Thanks for the post Dash!

I dont wanna go thro all the hassle(IMO) of cutting the bushings, and Im assuming thats what you did to get that ride height correct?

I have 18/19 and may want to go a little lower than you in the rear for instance, these c6 bolts dont look like much, is that whats being used for the front and rear? cause obviously our rear bolts are longer.

Anyone have install pics of c6 bolts?

There was room to go lower, but that's as far as I wanted it. No cutting bushings or anything on mine...set it where I wanted it and had a 4 wheel alignment done...rides and drives great!!

Depends on how low you want to go. Lower on stock bolts then see if you want lower. Want lower? Buy the rear bolts from Fastenall for $5 and cut the front busings. Want lower? Remove the front bushings like a lot of us did. If you want low low then just remove the fronts. There are a ton of threads on this subject with how-tos..

Take a look at my stance in the profile pic to give you an idea.Removed the front lowering bolts, used longer bolts in the rear, sitting on Bilstein sport shocks with 17x9.5 in the fronts with 275 40 17 bf goodrich KD extreme performance summer tires and the rears are 295 35 18 with 18x10.5 rim, with an overall 3/4 inch rake ,works for me!

I may have misled some of you guys with my post. I have researched and gone through the threads to cut your bushings, or remove them completely, or buy longer bolts for the rear.

My question was stating that I'm strictly looking for aftermarket kits, and Im asking to the ones have bought these, would you go with bolts for our C5's or would you buy C6 bolts and put them in.

I was told by a vendor that C6 bolts will gain me 3/4 more of a drop?

Sorry for the mix up guys, but thanks for all the responses!!

Stock bolts with cut bushings up front as low as it can go and longer aftermarket bolts in the rear with more room to lower. After lowering with the stock bolts all the way around the ride was still good. After cutting the front bushing it got a little stiffer but I have Z51 suspension so I would imagine it would bottom out with the regular suspension.

So should I assume that no one buys front lowering bolts lol? Cause so far everyone is modding there fronts(which I dont feel like doing).

I dont wanna go through cutting my bushings or anything. Id like a simple kit that I can replace the old with new.

My problem is whether to go with a C5 kit or C6 kit.

From what I've read the c5 and c6 kit are the same. Not 100% certain about that.

I bought the c6 kit from zip, but no pictures as I'm still working on the car. I had a frozen front right bolt I had to fix, so the front spring was removed. There's not much difference in the c6 bolts, just "updated" and they can be adjusted more.

From the pic I posted, from ZIP, and they are the C6 lowering kit, Why are the rear bolts so short? when people are buy like 7" bolts?

and by adjusted you mean more room to lower ?

like I said earlier a vendor told me you could get like 3/4" more out of a C6 kit

Yea there are more threads, so you can "slam" it with the zip kit. (But you'd probably be riding on the bump stops.)

Here is the kit I bought from zip, and the long bolts go in the rear:
