Could use some advice here guys for my 2000 C5 M6 FRC H/C/I
When I hit the gas moderatly to all the way i get a vibration that feels and sounds like something is either rubbing or out of balance? underneath my feet and back in the right rear drivetrain area. Almost has a sloppy bearing noise to it. under normal driving conditions it is fine. Any Ideas?

Reason: detail
You might want to check your torque tube bushings that connect to the drive shaft. If you have an older C5, the bushings had a tendency to crack and split over time. Some members would complain of vibrations after a hard burn out. The older bushings had smaller core bolts and you could literally tear these things to pieces under some heavy load circumstances. Good luck with it.
Its either the torque tube, or the differential... check em both, youll find the issue. i suppose theres a possibility of the clutch chattering from wearing out, but less likely.

Afer getting her down to Virginia I brought her to the house and I noticed that 1st and second were as strong as normal and when I shifted into 3rd I gave her some gas and it slipped,,,,RPMs roase and it did not go any faster.......wtH????? I affirmed my suspicions and ade sure I was not imagining it and 3 times in a row when I gave it the gas in 3rd it felt like a slipping clutch....... yet 1st and 2nd were strong?? has moderate drivetrain vibration and a sound like I have loose gears slapping together?????? Even worse with the AC on or a hard right turn. I am hoping it is not a tranny and a diff...MLS!!
Your tranny might be going as well as either the torque tube or diff or both but none of those will explain the rise in rpms with no rise in speed.
Your clutch is slipping.
The "good news" is that you'll have a chance to get a real good look at the other compnonents while you are changing the clutch.
LOL thanks alot.... Yeah there are some serious drive tran issues it is feeling like the bolts in everything are all 1 thread shy of all hell breaking loose. sucks man lets not mention after a hard right I hear the same noise.......FML.. you think it could be the half shafts goin making all that clacking and growling noises?
Torque tube bushings can feel like driving over rumble strips under moderate acceleration. If you have the originals in there - I'd be thinking of replacing them before they go completely.
Drove Dave's car today clutch is slipping a little! Vibration isn't as bad as it seems but while holding the shifter its vibrating like crazy compared to mine!

How is the vibration with the clutch disengaged = both sitting still and moving?

sitting still with the clutch disengaged it is not bad but my tune is so F@#$*ng SH!tty that it is tough to give an accurate description (Thanks PSI of Glen Burnie)..but with the clutch engaged and in gear there is significant vibration as well as when I am cruising at normal speeds. when I light into it it feels like someone throws the anchor out.. it goes like a bad out of hell but there is that odd rubbing vibration. I suspected my TT bushings and my half shafts lately.
I am having Virginia Speed tune the car tomorrow, I really hope that Ed has encountered a vette with a similar noise. But at the very least he will cure my drivability issues caused by the crap *** tune Im currently running with.
