Just talked to the detail shop that has done all of the work on this car and found out that a seperate body shop put the 50th logos on with a powerful adhesive and drilled holes for the emblem posts...ugh! Looking into now replacing them with standard C5 logos. Any other suggestions other than putting a bullet in my head?

If you are really concerned with authenticity and correctness - take off the badges. If you like the look of the badges, leave them on. No one is going to arrest you or even talk behind your back if you elect to retain the badges...do what makes you happy.
As far as the noise, could be an exhaust component rattling, could be a component in the rear suspension loose or broken. Best thing would be to get the car up in the air and have someone familiar with C5's take a look.

Yeah you are pretty much screwed. Might be able to go with a standard emblem, but still not my cup of tea. Maybe a custom LS1 emblem or something?
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm looking for replacement emblems for the fenders since there will be 2 glaring holes if I remove them. Probably go with LS1 emblems. They should cover, look nice and do the trick. Just have to scrounge up the $250 to get them, have the old ones removed and the new ones put on. We have a great shop here in Toledo (American Custom Industries) that has been extremely helpful. I'll takes some pics and post. Just ignore the 50th logos and remember that my car is a true 2002. Again, thanks again for your help.
