Shift knob rattle

Shift **** rattle
As part of putting the car on the road I installed the stock shift **** on the car. I know Dave has other ***** but I couldn't find them. Anyway the shift **** rattles. Did I leave something off when I put it on, or is there a way to fix it?

Did you reinstall the "key"? Here's my uninstall directions that'll show you what I'm referring to:

I would imagine that not having the key installed would allow the **** to rattle.

I have the B&M short shifter (newer design) with factory **** and it rattles a wee bit at WOT. Tried all I can to correct it but no matter what it rattles.
Never tried it without the key though.....hmmm.
Took the little pattern cover off = rattles
Wrapped some tape on the threads = rattles.
Added some tape to the cup under the shifter itself = rattles.
Yes the gasket is in place and all bolts are tight.
Drive it without the **** and listen for the rattle then.....hmm, may need to try that myself.
