I have a 2002 Z06 with a Vararam CAI. I am interested in purchasing a programmer and it seems the Diablosport has a good dedicated unit for the LS6 engine. Found new unit for $274.95 at LM Performance. Is this unit the best bang for the bucks and does it do most of the basic tuning necessary. I do a few drag and autocross events each year and would like to tweak up some of the settings for those events and go back to near stock when not racing for smoother idle and better fuel mileage. Any input would be appreciated and specs to program in if I buy the item. Thanks Ian

I have one and its good for a moderate bump in hp, probably 12-15. A real tuner is better but thats at least $350-400. (20-30hp)? It all depends on you. And with the Diablosport you can always check for thrown codes, lean bank codes, troubleshooting ,etc.

What would be considered a real tuner? For an extra hundred bucks it could be worth it if it really provides additional features. I do want to be able to read and clear codes.

get a tune for the $ , you will be happier...also, you can clear /know codes thru your DIC..
there are plenty of old posts on your questions...so take a look through your search , and you'll find a "ton " of info...
