Another thread.

I'm still amazed that some people are so concerned about what other people do with their cars...

"People buy these cars, then just let them sit in their garage ? Why bother even buying to begin with, if you are not going to actually enjoy it...my c5 has over 160,000 miles on it, and i thoroughly enjoy beating the **** out of it on a regular basis, isn't this why chevy made these cars with 345-over 400 h.p. ? seriously, whats with the 2000 model C5's etc. with only 10-15k miles on them, lol never did get that.. The only thing strange here is you intruding in my personal business ! Why are you asking how I used/do/or not, anything I PAID for. Do I ask you how oftem you buy underwear ? And who said I don't enjoy my Corvette? So . . .Then why don't go out and slam your vette up and down what ever street of highway is around you. You don't include your home so I can assume your from somewhere on the globe, and likewise near a good stretch or paved road, so go for pal. But what I do with what I own is my business, Period !

I hear Obama is considering a C5 Mileage Czar to make sure C5 owners drive their cars no more than 15k miles/yr. and no less than 5k miles/yr.

He had better do it soon, as a completely new Congress is about to be voted in.

But seriously, many of us have businesses that keep us so busy that we only have weekends for driving our cars.

One man's wine is another man's poison... some guys just enjoy doolin' over them. But hey, whatever makes you happy.

To me having a great classic in the garage without driving her... just cleaning and drooling over her... is like being married to a hot babe and never taking her to bed!

Ya gots to drive these babies!

Lots of true stuff here Bob, but you also must realize that you don't take your fine woman to bed every 5 minutes.....and some people don't drive their Vettes every 5 minutes either for some good reason or another

You are certainly entitled to your very narrow minded opinion.. Some people work all their lives, put their children through college, marry off their daughters and what weddings can cost, and only dream about owning a Corvette.. Once the priorities in their life are in order and they finally do get their Corvette, they certainly would never beat the hell out of it.. For most of us here on this forum, you sir are in the vast minority.

Seriously, why do you care what someone else does with their car? Believe it or not, you don't have to "beat the **** out of it" to enjoy it.

My 2003 Z06 has 12k miles. My 2002 Vert now has 87k. I have both for very different reasons. I have put 9k miles on the vert since March.

What the hell does President Obama have to do witha C5 not being driven? Some of you folks simply complain and worry about others to much... I support the President and hope he has continued success. Maybe he'll even get a garage queen one day...

I like my vette more than any other car I've ever owned and want it to last forever. I try to take real good care of it so it will last a long, long time. I do keep it in the garage and only drive when the weather is nice. I bought it to drive or not drive when and how I wanted. None of us have to answer to some required ownership criteria set by others. To me it just so cool to know it is there in the garage. After all these years I can now say, " I own a vette." Enjoy yours like you want and I will enjoy mine like I want.

People make choices in life all the time, your choice is to drive the crap out of your car. My choice is to keep mine pristine. Neither choice is right or wrong. However, what I find nuts is the "superiority complex" of people that make posts such as yours.

Agreed.

Are these the same guys that don't understand why you didn't select the same wheels that they did? Or why you kept your body side molding when they removed theirs? Or tell you to lower your car because they lowered theirs?

Some people have valid reasons for not putting +10k miles on their vette every year. If one of those reasons is they just want to stare at them in the garage because they are so beautiful then WTF do people care?

Me, I drive my truck to work mostly. I drive my vette to work only occasionally. I'll take my vette out on nice weekends. This is what I choose to do.
