I have noticed recently that when I turn to the left, after the wheel rotates a certain amount there appears to be a big increase in resistence. It almost feel like something is rubbing somewhere in the system. I never notcied it until after my car was towed. Any idea what could be the problem?
Is the belt slipping on the power steering pump pulley?
Does it feel or sound like something metal on metal rubbing inside the steering column?
Try having someone turn the steering wheel from lock to lock while you watch and listen with the hood open. Look for any sign of the belt slipping on the pulley.
It is odd that it only happens when turning left and only at a specific spot in the turn.
