And it was enough to get them around the course a little quicker. Of course, they were always higher than the recommended tire loading labels on the vehicles.

Cold PSI equates to no run time... no heat build up... with all four tires in the shade (or the vehicle in the garage) as opposed to one side in the shade and one side in the sun or your PSI readings won't be accurate.

A tire will LOOSE 1 PSI with every 10°F of temperature drop.

The same tire will INFLATE 1 PSI with every 10°F of temperature rise.

Adjust your PSI according to your general climate conditions. A vehicle with a cold inflated 30 PSI in say NY with a current average of 40°F that if driven to say FL with an average climate area of 90°F would find that their tires would be around 35 PSI in the morning.

I have never professed to be an expert but these are simple well known facts every car guy / gal should digest.

But you know everyone has their favorite way of inflating their tires... so, by all means, do whatever works for you.

I might have to adjust up or down 1 or 2 PSI... I won't know until I run completely through this set's tire life. But usually the manufacturer's suggested tire inflation rate is a good starting indicator. I'll remember that 28 PSI in the AS ZPs has worked well for you.

The Brits were top shelf in 'Nam. You’re welcome to visit southeast Florida any day and we’ll hoist a cold one to the men who didn’t come home.

This is without a doubt the most hilarious discussion I've ever read on tire inflation.

Is there any way to put people on an "ignore list" on this forum?

MS, it would be nice if next week you pick another thread to just hang around in every day. You haven't posted in one other thread besides this one in about 2 weeks...before that it was a couple months..

By the way kiddo...sentences don't start with AND, also you'll look more intelligent if you put a couple of spaces in between your sentences.

Make sure to pay attention this year in English and I might advise an auto shop class also.

Oh, thanks for replying to my message aimed @ Bob.

If you're ever in Northern CA, please hit me up so you can insult me to my face instead of basking in the anonymity of the internet.

I'm out. You can have the last word but please please please just call me or PM me if you're ever out this way. People seem to sound bigger/tougher/funnier/more experienced on the forums.

Donnie, no apologies necessary guy. No problem at all.

You know, you're all a great group of guys... but sometimes some of us get too passionate about questions set up for discussion.

It's easy to type offending remarks directed at a poster who disagrees with what you've said. It's much more difficult to sit back and take a couple of deep breaths and relax rather than be nasty.

Think about it, we're just trying to suggest to the new OP what we've been running for tire pressure in our Vettes. That's not worth fighting over... or ending with the calm, quick, deliberate snapping of someone's neck.

Respecting someone else's opinion is what it's all about. This is America and all of us and everyone else is entitled to voice their personal opinion without retribution or fear of being attacked for non-conformity.

This forum is still the best Vette forum around with terrific, informative archived threads for the DIY guy... not to mention an almost endless list of top shelf vendors that cater to our Vette needs.

Enjoy the ride.

Tire pressure is one of those settings you have to experiment with to suit your own driving style, conditions, tire compound, car weight dist and so on.

I too have been trained by Goodyear,Bridgestone and Hoosier. They all vary somewhat but the basics are the same.

I personally like on my street driven Conti2 shod 02Z..F:32,R:30.Both cold.

If you want your car to perform like it should keep the tires at 30 PSI hot.. It doesnt matter what your tire pressure is when they are cold.. only when they are actually being asked to do what they were designed to do, run at actual driving conditions and temperatures. For many people a Corvette is a summer car. it can get hot in Texas, and Arizona , and Georgia.. those hot asphalt roads can fry and egg.. and increase your tire pressure dramatically.. You do not want to be running around with 38 psi in your tires.
The End
Even though I have using the 30PSI cold inflation as recommended on the door sticker; your credentials are without question. Its 30 PSI hot for me in the future.

Why does it matter when or how often or in what thread or threads I post on this forum? It doesn't matter to me (and I would bet to anyone else), but obviously does to you (being the only exception, and the only one who has ever pointed out this kind of thing to me, or to anyone else, as far as I have ever seen or remember). Is that because of your pettiness in your attempt to attack me back with your "best shot," that being anything other than the actual subject of this thread?

AND I'll start sentences with AND if I damn well please. What are you, the damn forum grammar police? Damn, Donnie, you are really pathetic.

AND I can reply to any message I damn well please, whether it's to me or to someone else. OR didn't you know that Donnie?

AND your tough talk (also on the internet) is soooo impressive, let me tell ya. Soooo impressive, I'm now afraid to meet you.

As I said before (and worth repeating), you show how stupid you are EVERY time you post. It's a good thing you're out. You really don't need any more times reinforcing the perception I have of you.

By the way, there is a way to put me on your "ignore list," but you're going to have to figure it out for yourself. On second thought, maybe I should tell you. Nah. More fun this way.
