Default Double Din

Does anyone have a picture of the BACK view of the radio console which has been modded for a double din? I'm particularly interested in the side "pin" placement.

Thanks

Hi Dennis: I'm almost embarrassed to ask after all the great help you've given me during my protracted HU upgrade. I travel quite a bit and I have to fit working on my vette in between the travel. Anyway, based on all of your advice I finally was prepared to finalize lining up the HU and HVAC.

Okay here goes......I was successful in aligning the HU but when I tried to line up the HVAC I ran into trouble trying to align and screw it to the cage. I then thought about the tip you suggested. When I got ready to dry fit I realized the opening is sized correctly to accommodate the face of the HVAC, but because of the side tabs on the the HVAC (where you screw it to the cage), there is no way to flush the unit with the opening because of the contact with the side tabs on the console. No way to fit the HVAC into the opening with those tabs.

An ex-forum member did the mod for me.....(before you were on here as a vendor) so I'm stuck.

I've had the interior of my care completely out to do install, retrofit HUD and add gauge bezels....this without a doubt has been the most frustrating issue I've had to deal with. Thanks again for all of your help and hand holding.

Send me a pic of what going on and I will help you get it correct.

In most cases if this is a no ash tray version. Just simply cut off the guide pins. It will set perfect. Half the time the guide pins is what causes the bezel to stick out on the passenger side anyways. They are not really needed. Sure they help but sometimes they are more of a problem than good.

Send me a pic and we will have you all buttoned up in no time
