I found this set on ebay. They were pretty long then just cut them to length. The brightness in the photo is because of the camera flash...they should look like what tstar has in his vid and pics. I'll post up pics once I get them installed to compare.

COOL!! Just wondering,,,was it cheaper that buying them outright? I know job satisfaction also enters the equation too!!I admire the talent,,I'm not afraid of mechanical stuff,,,but lack electrical knowledge!! Nice job!!!

remember, I don't think they're OEM lights so the adhesive is probably different from what GM uses also and could be more susceptible to "loosening" under extreme heat???

The glue used is fairly strong. Every time I gently pried with the flat head screwdriver you could hear cracks. This project could have potentially turned to crap if I left them in the oven for to long or cracked the lens trying to pry them off...If I cracked the housing, no biggie I could plastic weld it, but you can't fix a lens. (I did scratch one of the lens when taking them off)

Granted this was my first attempt, so if I every had to do another one I have a better feel for what to do vs what not to. I saved money by doing everything myself but it still does come with a price...one mistake and I would have paid over what JW is asking for a set that is already pre-fab, but I was willing to take that risk...I just like messing with things so for me it's more of game and I get enjoyment out of it!

Besides Tim, (tstar) inspired me (inside joke)

Ok I'm looking for alittle help from the big guns of LEDs. I have everything installed and everything seems to work. The LED strip works as do the LED corner bulbs, but the DRL LEDs (switch back type) continue to hyper flash. I've added an LED relay to stop it from doing that but it didn't quite help entirely. Without the realy the indicator wouldn't blink, but the DRL's were still in hyper flash switching back and forth from amber to white...when I added the relay, the indicators began to work at proper speed BUT the DRL's were still doing the hyper flash. I tried turning the bulb 180 degrees then the bulb didn't work at all. I need some help on this one, it's driving me nuts!!!

P.S.
LED relay 2 prong with ground wire. I connected the purple and pink to the leads and the ground to black (just in case this info is needed...thanks.)

In my experience, some switchback bulbs cause the car to just get freaky. There's no logical explanation for why this happens. Lights that normally don't flash (like in the insturment cluster) will start spazzing. My suggestion is to either try a different style of switchback or go to traditional LED tower bulbs.
