I recently purchased a 2003 millenium yellow ZO6. The car is in great condition, low miles, no accidents on CarFax etc. No overspray, painted bolts or any other indicators of bodywork. My question to those of you with this color; is it possible for the hood to be a shade off from the bumper and fenders? It seems a little bit lighter. Could it be the angle I'm looking at it? The rear trunk matches no matter how I look at it. Maybe I'm overly paranoid, long time ago I purchased a car that should have been totaled but was rebuilt as it was almost new. I couldn't tell but eventually found out about this dealership on 20/20 which saved my hide.
Mine is the same color. It could be that the hood was damaged and replaced. It could also be that the previous owner had a supercharger on the car and had a aftermarket hood installed (some PD units require a taller hood), which was removed and replaced with a stock hood. Do you know who the previous owner is? If so, ask

My hood matches the rest of the car. I bought my car new, & I know for a fact that it's never been repainted.
My hood matches perfectly. Maybe the previous owner had the hood repainted to repair rock chips? I had a C4 once that had the hood painted for this reason.
I had my front repainted a few weeks ago, due to some rock chips. Took it to the best shop around, since MY is a PAIN to get right. Took him 4 tries to get it perfect, but now it's like new. I talked to him, and he said that after time, it's possible for the front and rear bumpers to be a different color, since they're made of a different material. And UV is especially hard on yellow. So the color difference on the Z might be natural, if it's been parked in the sun a lot.

That seems like a possibility. The car appears to be all original and had 19K for mileage. With the exception of the hood shade being slightly lighter it is in perfect condition, not a chip anywhere.
