Default Used Car Values?

I am getting ready to sell my 2002 Coupe and I have a question. I know the KBB value of my car, but the prices I see others asking for the same car is more (some quite a bit more) than market value in this area. I live in South Alabama and I was wondering if anyone could quide me in a fair asking price.

2002 Corvette Coupe
Exterior: Pewter
Interior: Ebony

Options:

Automatic Transmission.

3LT Package. (Heads up display and all other features included with this package)

Roof Package: Both painted and transparent roof.

Chrome Wheels.

Mileage: 99,000

This car is in excellent condition but will need a set of tires before too long.

Thanks in advance.

I looked yours up based on a zip code for Mobile and found that your 2002 coupe showed $14,800 for excellent condition and $13,850 for good condition. I then looked at my 2001 coupe in my area (Tampa Bay) and mine is shown at $20,200 in excellent and $19,350 in good condition. Area has something to do with it plus mine is a 35,000 mile 6speed which also has an effect.

I also did my '01 in your area and your '02 in my area and found this info.

My '01 in your area is listed at $20,450 for excellent and $19,600 for good which is a little better then here in my area, and your '02 in the bay area would bring $15,200 for excellent and $14,250 for good.

Again remember this is what the KKB states. It is really up to what the purchaser is willing to pay. You will want to probably ask more than the KKB list that way you have some room to come down if needed.

What are you finding the asking prices in your area for an '02 Vette coupe with like mileage?

I have looked in the local papers and also on the internet. I know that just because you ask, doesn't mean you get it. I haven't seen one with quite the number of miles mine has, but close. I am trying to decide if I want to trade or sell out right. I know that I would get more if I sold it myself and I was trying to find out before I go and talk trade, what I might get for it myself vs. trading.

Thanks for the information!

Keep in mind that if someone wants a stock car and is going to buy the stock runflats, they are looking at up to $2k after they are mounted. The "excellent" category is how a dealer would sell it which means with new tires.

I think starting around $16k would be fair with plenty of room to come down on that. Good luck, I hope you get back in to a vette in the future.

I know. That is why I haven't replaced the tires myself. They have a few more miles left, but not a whole lot. I'm looking into getting a 2011 Grand Sport Coupe. I find it hard to drive anything else now that I've driven mine for 9 years. Love this car.
