Default Eckler experience

Cannot understand their problems with answering my e-mail , sent 4 in the past 3 weeks and no response. Tried phoning and they did not seem interested in talking. I will be in their area in the next few weeks and wanted to get a number of parts and wanted to see their availability.

As in all retailers, some are better than others.

I don't really have anything good to say about 'em...

Ordered my headlight bronze gear replacement and both headlight access plugs. Well, the gear was out-of-stock for about 1-day, so the genious' send me the plugs first.

I get the plugs and say 'oh, how nice, WTF am I supposed to do w/ this and no gear!' The gear arrives seperately 2-days later; guess they like giving UPS business or something. Crappy part is I'm the one paying for shipping...

Secondly, I get my gears in and everything is good. Then I'm gonna put my headlight access plugs in and the dang thing don't fit. I email them and guess what? Yep, no response....lousy customer service!

I do some research and find out that the access plugs are larger on a 2000 and up model, whereas my 1997 has a smaller hole. This could explain why the plug they sent don't fit. 1) perhaps a previous owner swapped out my drivers headlight from a 2000+ car (which wouldn't be Ecklers fault, or 2) Ecklers sent me the plug for a 2000+ car.

This isn't something that couldn't be fixed, but being ignored is the worst part of all. Needless to say, next time I need parts you know who I WON'T be going through.

I've purchased a few things from Ecklers in the past and really didn't have any trouble. I haven't ordered anything in the last several years though.

In C5 General, use search or search this forum (in the red banner) for past threads about ECKLER'S customer service record. Use keywords "eckler's". Positive experiences are hit and miss, similar to GMPARTSDIRECT.

I'm still waiting for an ECKLER'S call back from almost five years ago regarding magnesium LT1/LT4 valve covers. Funny thing is, GMPARTSDIRECT found them for me.

My advice - if they are not interested in talking to you, either by phone or e-mail, then maybe best to shop elsewhere - there are plenty of vendors that are hungry for your business.

My experience was the same. I waited 8weeks for the last parts I ordered. Granted I live in the UK but I honestly thought that they had gone astray and the customer service trying to track the shipment was non existent.

Thank goodness for the great vendors on the Forum

I had a big issue with them, specifically their customer service, a little over a year ago. You can look through my previously started threads if you are interested. The bottom line is, I don't recommend them to anyone, even though they are 45 min from me.

I ordered twice from them and never again. Nothing is in stock, everything is a constant back order, and never any satisfaction from their "customer service" who promises to follow up and never does. I seriously wonder how they're still in business considering all the bad service and deserved bashing on the online forums.

i was there a few years ago and once i took a look at the warehouse sections that were available to the public to "see", i could understand at least partially where some of their problems at least started. personally, they are the last resort if i absolutely, positively can;t find parts elsewhere.

Default Ecklers service ?

I donno know about others, but I have always had excellant service from Ecklers. One retailer makes you call on seperate lines for sales or customer service or anything else. But for me, Ecklers is always a one call order, and it arrived in a week or so. Shippping costs are always in the stratosphere, but so is every vendor out there, it's that or a crazy restocking fee. If it's for a Corvette, it's gonna cost you !

I ordered a lot of parts from them with zero issues. Then a month ago I ordered an 84 C4 AC compressor. They sent the wrong one. Three calls and four emails to customer service and they were no help at all. They kept asking "what is wrong with the compressor". I even emailed them a picture. I finally sent it back and purchased the right one from Rockauto but got stuck with the return shipping. Their customer service sucks.
