Mine was doing exactly the same thing. Turns out that the connectors themselves inside the door had gone bad. The male and female sides were not conecting tightly. Had the both male and female conectors in both doors replaced. $125 at the dealership.
Great post with pics! BTW how did you clean the connectors on the pass side connector once you separate/unplug it?
The pics are courtesy of our resident guru Bill Curlee
Providing they are not corroded (which shouldn'y be a problem in the door hinge area) the easiest way to clean the connectors is with electronics cleaner. $5 from Radio Shack.

I'm experiencing similar issues. I think it's a bad battery but not entirely sure. After checking the battery date it looks to be 5 years old. I tested the battery this morning with the car off, and the volts measured 10.55 on the volt meter. I charged it up with a trickle charger started the car, and drove around. I again measured the volts with the meter while running and it registered between 13 and 14v. I then let it sit until late afternoon and went to start the car...it made the clicking noise but didn't start...can I safely assume it's the battery???
Yes I think you can. If you want, have someone try to start while you check battery voltage, if it drops below 10 V, get a new one. I don't think you have to spend tons of money for a bttery. Just get one that has a decent warrenty and plenty cranking amps.
check the grounds under the battery. mine were corroded, and needed to be sanded and cleaned. I initially thought I needed a new ECM, but not the case - new battery, and cleaned grounds.
Did the same damn thing again today, becoming a weekly pattern. Stop the car, turn it off, restart everything is fine. Just for the hell of it I went through the codes, bout as long as my arm. Any other suggestions?
