first timeto se this. car sat for about a month started it to move it then shut it off sat for about an hour then started it to put it away and it told me I had these problems.
Mine did that and it was the negative battery terminal not being tightened properly.
Low battery and bad grounds cause a lot of these problems according to what I have read on this forum.
Ther are a tone of posts on this, pretty common. But bear in mind, since its common you will read a lot of general misinformation (basically dont run out and buy an EBCM or replace yours). Just read what you can and address the electrical system (good battery, grounds clean).
If it still shows up (or even now) pull the codes and see what it points to. But Id address the electrical system stuff first as it has the potential to effect many systems (a lot of the Service Colum Lock problems also stem from something as simple as "bad but not dead" battery or a ground problem) so Id make sure those were ok first.
My lights were constantly ON and won't go away. I replcaed my battery and cleaned up everything.
Code: C1214. To fix it I need to get my ABS Module rebuilt. I just havn't found anyone locally and I don't know if I should just ship it. Let me know if anyone had their ABS Module rebuilt. Thanks
The C1287/C1288 codes are the SWPS (steering wheel positioning sensor). Had to replace mine this year on my 04. About a $65.00 part from www.gmpartshouse.com. Takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to replace.

Yup, you can remove the EBCM and send it out for repair. Its two plugs and six screws (the screws are a little bit of a pita due to the small clearance to get your hand in there, but thats it), many cover the exposed side of the brake valve you remove the EBCM from with plastic as well as the end of the plugs you unplug, just to keep it all clean.
You can drive the car without the EBCM, the only thing you wont have is ABS (or obviously AH/or TC) but it will drive just like any vehicle before they had ABS and you wont hurt anything.
I had mine done a few years ago, still working fine.
