Default Vert Trunk lid question?

This will be a fast one. I replaced the struts on my front lid (for the top), and it magically opened by itself when I pushed the button, that was really cool. Will the trunk lid do the same with good struts?

Where are the oil points? On the struts?

I guess what I was reallly asking was should the trunk lid open up all the way with struts working properly? Like the front lid does? The reason I was curious was because my front lid did not lift up, I put new struts on it and now it raises up without my lifting on it, and was just curious if the trunk lid should also do this as well? Not having been around Corvettes that much, let alone Verts, I have really never seen this to know one way or another.

NO, the rear trunk lid only pops up about 3" when working right. I would not want any of the lids to come up all the way, especially the tonneau cover. If the wind catches any of these it could be UGLY.

Wow. I don't know if I would want my front hood to pop up all the way after releasing the hatch in the cockpit. I like that it only pops up an inch or so and that I then lift and extend it up.

I also have a vert and I think oil/lubricant is the best solution as the trunk is also only supposed to pop up an inch. I guess new, stronger and more compressed struts could be the solution. Who manufactured your replacement hood struts?

Where did you get the struts and do you have part #'s!
I have been looking for them because my lid just falls shut!

The lid falling shut is a different problem to it not popping up

You need a new strut

Kevin, I do not remember where I got the front deck shocks, I just did a search to find them. If you can't find them PM me and I will look it up fo you. Same as the factory ones.
Pretty easy to put on, as long as you go the right direction when putting them on. Back first, then the front.
