Default Switchblade keys

Were can I get a switchblade key for my c5 Z06. I'm in a need for one more. I been look everywhere on this forum and haven't come close to any, maybe im not looking to hard. Does any vendor/dealership sell them or they have to be custom made by hand?

They're not factory so you'd be looking for a 3rd party vendor.

Who the third party vendor? Any names would help. I have a 00 C5 Z06 (swap motor). Would it be hard at all?

There was a vendor who offered these a couple of years ago, however I have not seen them resurface in awhile. They used to have either the C5 or Z06 logo on the casing.

This vendor turned out to be very unreliable and numerous CF members got burned.

They were all the rage here on the forum a couple of years back but I guess production problems caused them to just disappear.

The company was called corvettekey.com and it was run by a guy who was a member here. It all looked great at the launch (well over 5 years ago) and many members were happy with the product. Shortly after it all went horribly wrong and there were a lot of very unhappy customers. I dont think it was a quality issue IIRC, he just failed to meet the orders.

I think one of the bigger vendors acted as a go between at one point but then stopped selling them.

Shame because the key looked good.

Yeah I read a thread about them that was the main problems, customer wasn't getting their orders and plus customer service was bad. That is what I have read in that thread about corvettekey.

I picked one up myself a few years ago

Quality was good.

I was extremely disappointed with the large size of the piece. Almost as big as a small cell phone. Twice as big and somewhat thicker then the OEM fob. Just too bulky for me.

I used it for about one day.

i remember many complaints being posted. from what i remember, their website is still up and you can even place an "order" on it, but you will never hear from them, nor will you ever get what you think you just "ordered". be very careful if you find that site.
