Lets start mod the rear bumper!

But for the attachment i started to put tinfoil like this

Then the polyester and glassfibre!

This is someting i usually do when i dont care about the finish of the stuff, the tinfoil releases easy against the molded area.

You probably seen that some glasssfibreparts are hard to get the fitment to the body, i always do like this.
I take this away and cut the "hair" away then i mount the bumper in the correct place and mold it together with this piece, then i get a perfect fitment for every bumper i take out of the mold.
If i had done this when the bumber was away from the car, the lines would be incorrect. The orignial plastic bumper is soft and the glassfibre less soft material.

Thanks
On the final product i usually take one layer cloth on the inside.
A good mat is the easiest way to get a good result, most cloths are hard to get formed to corners etc.
Also mix the polyster with the hardener (normally 2%) and wet the hole area before puting mat or cloth on it. When the mat comes in contact with the polyester the solvent starts to dissolve and the mat gets easier to work with. Work around and keep getting layers and layers.

to release the fiberglass from the dash without ruining it, should I shape it with the tin foil to create an easy way to pull it off?
sorry if this is getting you off track

It'll help pass time I swear haha

I guess Polyester resin is the same, you can choose from Polyester and Epoxy, Epoxy is for carbon parts but for fibreglass its polyester and hardener.
No, wet the area i mean with polyester, otherwise you gonna get airbubbles on the surface in your mold.
Yes you can use tinfoil and tape the edges, the thing you get in your mold is some minor scratches that you need to putty.
And one more thing - Be sure to look at the negative angels on the thing you starts to create a mold from, some molds you must do in two pieces for separating against the original part.
And the last thing, if youre planning on a finish carbon layer you need to do the fibreglass with epoxy from start, polyester and epoxy doesent match togheter.
Good Luck, send me a PM if you want some input, i think i have pictures left from some previus car i molded the dashboard on.

Use a scissor to cut your lines, after that just sand it.

Prepared for continue, next step is to place the bumper in exact right position then use polyester against this small bastards and the bumper.

So today i started fix the lower part.
Now its in the right position!

I put tinfoil against the bumper for creating the "ears" for fastening the lower part.

Also the plate thing gets me confused.... were should i put it?
