I lock mine. Sets the alarm and it also presents one additional challenge for a scum bag trying to steal my car has to overcome rather than leaving the care unlocked saying "Welcome.....Take Me."

Just tried it- you are correct sir. Well- as I said before I'm new to C5's- so an old guy that had 7 Vettes can still ask a dumb newbie question I guess.
and like "they" say....no such thing as a dumb question right.

I lock mine all the time and rarely not in sight of it.

I have my passive lock on so it locks and unlocks whenever I'm near it. Took me a little while to get comfortable with this feature, but now I love it. So yes, always locked except in my garage.
