Default Which exhaust

Other than cost. Which pipes would most of you buy. I'm only interested in my vet sounding better than my Tundra. She's a 2001 vert
K&N cold air intake, auto. Other than mabe installing an X pipe no other mods will be. The wife!! What she dose not know will not hert her.

Pypes / Violator cost $549
Brola/ stringer $900
Corsa / extream $1000

Modertly loud at idel is ok. Loud when giving it the gas very good. At cruse quiet is best. She runs 70 mph at about 1700 rpms. Easy instalation also a pluss.
I know I'm asking a lot. Go ahead and give me hell.:conf used:

I vote for the Borlas, but based on what you are looking for you might be better with Corsa. I have Corsa now and miss the loud Borlas I had.

I've never heard Pypes on a C5.

I'm very happy with my Borla and it's just fine when cruising at 70.

Hey Doug O

Our PRT system would be a good fit for what you are looking for. Deep mild note at idle and cruise with a robust bark on hard acceleration. Here is a link, http://www.bbexhaust.com/car/corvette/c5/, to the C5 page on our website which has some photos and sound clips. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions.

Keep checking the used parts for sale section. Different brands of catback become available all the time, and they're usually about half price of new. The quality brands are SS, which unless damaged, will clean up to look new. I suggest GHL Bullets for your needs. Second choice would be Corsa Pace Car for a loud pipe that cruises quietly.

I had borla stingers w/ quad tips on my 98 coupe and then switched to borla straight pipes. I would vote for the stingers in your case. Makes a great noise at idle, will be LOUD at WOT, but can be louder than some prefer on the road (not me, hence the switch to straights )

They sound and look great. No resonance in the car.

Hate to put a wrench in this but I would DEFINITELY POSITIVELY COMPLETELY go with a B&B product. I have had the others and nothing can beat the B&B's...for you, sounds like you would be happier with the B&B PRT exhaust. Here is a pic of my old PRT's. They are absolutely amazing. Using a bypass system they are quiet at normal speeds and idle but wide open and loud when you get on it:

Here are my quad tip bullets now. My favorite but definitely louder than you are looking for:

I vote for CORSA man are happy with them -

If you enjoy taking the wife for cruises the best suggestion is to find a few in your area and see if you can go around the block and WOT somewhere and cruise RPM's to see if you "REALLY" like them.

If not then the wife wont enjoy the cruises you go on She'll know if you've changed them for sure - if she don't go with you then - B&B BULLETS!

Thanks,Matt

I have the Cosa Pace Car with an xpipe. Went to Carlisle and listened and talked and I like these the best. Was going to get the extreams but thought better of it, until I got home and my wife said" I didn't even hear you come home"!! Anyway I really do like them and glad I went with what I did. Best thing is to go find and listen first hand if you can then make your pick. that's my 2 cents.

I have GHL bullets and they are too loud for my wife's liking. I personally love the way they sound. I will be switching to Ti's later this spring.

No expert advise here as I have only owned my Vette for a week, but it came with the Corsa exhaust and I couldn't be happier. The only time it seems to be really loud is under heavy throttle. Has a nice soft burbling sound at idle and no droning at cruise speeds.
