how can i tell if i have the CLB? My colom does not lock at all, and i cant tell if i hear a silinod or that is the door lock when i take the key out. hearing is a litle less than perfect thanks to working avation so long. thanks
I believe, the door should not lock automatically, when you take the key out. If is a door locking it should be an immediate "thunk". The column lock solonoid should make a whirring/buzzing noise for about a second.
I suffer from the same aviation related hearing loss but, the door lock and column lock noises are desinctly different.

Good luck.
what i ment was the door unlocks when i take the key out. anyways, i never heard any buzzing or anything, especialy coming from the column. thanks for the heads up.
the column never locks thogh, even with the key out, i can turn the wheel all i want. it is a 2nd hand 03 z06, so i was wondering what to look for , and were to look esactly for the bypass without taking anything apart.
I think this car has been played with electricaly. the skipshift is definatly bypassed, and the reverse lockout dosnt always work. i have momentarily grinded reverse trying to shift into 5th, .
Not that great. I grew up on SoCal and would go back in a second if it weren't so damned expensive. Some parts of Texas are really pretty but, not so much the DFW area.
You are right, the weather is GREAT but everything else SUCKS - this state may never be what it once was ?????
