This used to be a class forum. As the c5 Z06's get cheaper, they are affordable to a younger, lower class of people. As time goes on, this forum has lost the camaraderie and respect that members used to show each other. It was an enjoyable place to spend some time. Nothing stays the same, and thanks to you few members for destroying what was once a great forum.
How ignorant. Get the hell off of your high horse and be the first to leave this "lower class" forum. I guess I am lower class because I am 26 with a pristine C5Z. I bet the fact that I served two tours overseas fighting for your freedom makes me even more lower class too.
Use your money, aka "class" and go buy a C6Z or ZR1 and hang out with that crowd.

and Thank You for your service. Since he's from New York, maybe we should generally believe that all people from NY are pompous A@@holes....
I usually don't respond like that but his comment was a little over the top! lol He even posted in one of the earlier pages saying that no one like an ***hole... weird, go figure...
For the record, my Z has three to four documented trips to the dealership regarding the column lock. One of their remedies was to replaces the battery with a brand new AC/Delco battery. IIRC the dealer installed whatever part that is supposed to cure this too. So far nothing has happened to me as the new owner but I may just buy the CLB kit especially since this is a "weekend" car. Agreed?

There is no reason to not put in the clb. As far as my comment, you are new here. This forum has deteriorated as far as respect towards other members- especially over the last year.
This column lock issue has been discussed to death during the four years I've been here. It is a real issue, and it's not only due to a discharged battery. If you think you can beat the odds and it's not worth the 50 bucks and the hour it takes to install...well... I guarantee you will be here in the future asking what to do when it locks up if you don't install it.

....and your comment blew me away. You can't belittle and disrespect others and expect it in return. End of discussion. I'll get the CLB.
If my comments offended anyone I apologize. I am disturbed when newer members ask questions then insult and post rude comments to members who take the time to answer their questions. This forum has degenerated over the years as far as civility. Obviously my guess as to the reason why has upset many. I can see my guess was wrong. Some of the new young people are honorable- and some of the older new members are not. It's just the luck of the draw. Regardless, some are intent on turning this forum into a joke. I really am disappointed when something worthwhile and enjoyable is disrespected and turned into a trash-fest. The comment was directed to those of you who act like fools and are rude- not those who are young, etc. It was meant to upset so that people would examine their comments and act accordingly. If you see a rat in your living room, are you not going to do something about it?
I am making a point. EVERYONE- post to others as you would have others post to you. Let's move on and let the past rest.

Spend the $ 50 and use 1/2 hour of your time to install a CLB. Not putting one on a manual tranny Z06 is just asking for trouble. Do not be an idiot stranded 66 miles from home becuase you did not install one.
I got stuck in the back woods of Arkansas on the way to Eureka Springs - no cell phone reception. we finally got it loose but, it was no fun and it locked up again a few days later. There is a thread somewhere on the Forum that describes a way to break it loose - and it works. But, heed the good advice. It it's stuck once, it will again and in the most awkward time. Get the CLB. Best $50.00 you will spend.
Don't waste you money on CLB, just keep battery up and get the one rated for your car, not a cheapie or lessor rated battery and you will be fine.
I hope you are joking Telling someone not to fix the CLB problem is like telling someone not to buy insurance for their car Thats just flat out bad info or bad advise to give to anyone.. Makes me cringe just reading it
Great video BUT, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you! Here is a picture of my front yard an hour ago - in Fort Worth Texas. Actually I'm just jealous. I had some business at LAX a couple of weeks ago and it was in the high 80s.

Not that great. I grew up on SoCal and would go back in a second if it weren't so damned expensive. Some parts of Texas are really pretty but, not so much the DFW area.
