Anyone Replace their Battery Recently?
Well, it's time to replace my Optima Red Top that I put in 6 years ago. Anyone out there purchase a battery recently? Interested in brand, specs, where purchased, price, etc. Thanks in advance.
Well, I just bought an Optima Yellow Top D34/78-950. I actually just ordered it online about an hour ago lol so I'm going to pick it up today after work.
I am using an Odyssey PC680. It is really light (about 15lbs) and has been starting my car just fine for about 10-11 months. It only has 680 CCAs, but, that has not been an issue.
4 years ago I replaced the battery in my 96 vert with a Wal-Mart battery. Have had no issues what so ever and the price was right $69.99.
I replaced the battery in my 00 vert a year and a half ago with a, you guessed it, Wal-Mart battery. Again no issues what so ever and price, you guessed it again $69.99.
I replaced my red top Optima 2 times in 2 years. My car is not a daily driver but does not sit more than a week. Maybe 2 bad batteries but I've have my last Optima.
still have the OEM....guess the time will be coming soon.
Me too, my '04 vert (17K miles) still has the original battery. The car has not been driven since November. It is under a cover in the garage and connected to a battery tender. I started it last week, no problems.
Just replaced my 6 year old Optima Red Top with another Red top. $150, including tax, at Sam's Club. Would have gone with a less expensive replacement except that two previous conventional batteries leak and caused expensive damage. The last one leaked after only 6 months.
Replaced mine about a year ago with a Duralast Gold from Autozone and has been working perfectly. No problems starting the car after sitting for two months with no tender on it. The price was right, and it comes with a prettty good warrantee. There are more than enough opinions going around when it comes to batteries, so do your homework and buy what you feel good with. Good luck!
