Time for new tires. Current GSD3s have logged 50k. Looking at General Exclaim UHPs in stock sizes. Anyone here who has used them? Would appreciate your thoughts on them.

Thanks, Don

My 99 coupe that I bought last May has General Exclaim UHP's. Very satisfied with them, quiet, good traction for highway driving, no problems. I would probably buy them after current ones wear out. They're very reasonably priced.

I don't see them in Tirerack's inventory anymore, they used to carry them. Where are you getting them and what is the price for a set of 4?

Going from GSD3s to UHPs is going to be a huge, huge downgrade.

I just put those on my car a couple weeks ago and love them, They are quiet, ride nice and hook up better than the PS2s I had. Oh, they are only 200 each too

If you got 50K out of your GSD3s, why do you want to change brands?

My type of driving for the last 60k+ miles has been 90+% highway. Zero burnouts. I figure if they are good tires and I can get 40k+ out of them it will be money well spent, as there is a good savings in price. If not, next change will be back to the GSD3s. With current promos, $631 Installed.

There have been a lot of good feedback on the General tires here on the forum. I looked at them when I was shopping for tires for my new wheels, but went with the Hankook Ventus V12 instead. Was kind of a toss up for me though.

The General Exclaim UHP is the value tire of choice in the C6 Z-06 section.
It is good for road use, but gets a bit squirmy when pulling .8+ G's based on the posts there.

Thanks for input, guys. Will be getting them next week. Time to put the burnouts into the plus column this weekend.

Just purchased a complete set of Hankook V12 from Tire Rack. What a sweet deal.

Same thought here.

I'm a long way from 50K on my GSD3's, but when they are done, I'll probably replace them with the same. An excellent tire.

really? based on what?

they were miles ahead of my stock C6Z06 tires in ever area.

But thats not an issue now as General has discontinued them.

No word on why or what the replacement will be

For the C5 BFG KDWS ....best tire ever on my blown C5

Check into the Toyo Proxes TR1's.
I am on my 2nd set and I love these tires. They are great in the rain.
BTW I do not drive my Vette like a Gril .

America's Tire Co./Discount Tire Co. still have them, and General still shows them on their website.
http://www.generaltire.com/tires/TC1/

I've also heard that they were discontued, but they are still listed.
