Battery goes dead
I have a 2000 convert. and the right floorboard got a lot of water in it about 2 months ago and when we got in it we found the right seat to be all the way forward and motor extremly hot. I disconnected the seat and dried the area but have had the battery go dead now after about 5/6 days. seat was left disconnected so it isn't the seat motor. Any ideas what could be going on?????? We had the codes read but it doesn't show anything.

Have the battery tested.
Back a couple of months ago when my Mazda was at the shop, the techs left its door ajor which drained the battery extensively. A week later and after letting the car sit for 4-5 days without being started, I went to fire it up and it was almost dead. It turns out that one cell was damaged when the battery was drained and the battery never returned to its usual self.
My guess, then is that your battery was damaged. Take it in to have it charged and load-tested. Most likely, you will be told that it needs to be replaced.

Thanks to all of you for your replys. I had a new battery installed after it happened the 1st time and it still did it about 5days later. I have it over at U J Chevrolet here in Mobile and the service writer thinks he has found the window switch on the passenger door to be faulity and is replaceing it and takeing the door apart and adjusting the window rail so the window will close completely and aligined to keep water from getting in. Cost impact $560.00 but if this cures the probleum then so be it. But was very gratefull to Bill Curlee for his very good resource info Thanks to all for your feed back. Still paying and learning!!!!!!!!
