Default Parking lights

Hello, newb here so don't beat me to death if this is a "old" topic. I ran an advanced search and could'nt find what I'm looking for. Here it is, Is there away to disable the headlight function (opening) when running just your parking lights? TIA.

The headlights are not suppose to open when you have just the P lights on,,,, are you turning the switch to far.

mine do this too, I have HID fogs and all LED signals and markers. I imagine this causes it.

No sir, just re-verified. From off to the first detent. Headlights open, they don't come on, they just open. Sounds like I have issues eh? Just factory lighting on mine.

Is your twilight sentinel on maybe that is why the doors are opening, just a guess.

Yes, you do have a gremlin somewhere. At the first detent the parking lights should come on but the headlights should not open. Do your headlights have HID lights in, by any chance? Are the bulbs and lights stock? What about the lights in the parking lights and tail lights?

If the headlights pop up when just parking lights are selected (first position on the switch), this is indicative of one or both of the headlight gears failing. It is not supposed to work like this.

I'll bet you hear grinding when the headlamps are shut off too.

Funny you should say that, I indeed have this problem on my passenger side. Sounds like a air compressor running. I know about the brass gear replacement, it's on the to do list. Thanks for everyones hekp.
