Other than putting it on the car. is there a way to test a throttle body to make sure all of the electronics work? I picked up a used one cheap at a swap meet so I wont have any down time when I send one in for porting and I wanted to see if there is a way to check it before I have it ported. I guess I could always swap over the electronics from the ones on the car now but I would rather not make this brain surgery if I dont have to.

Pull the plug on your existing TB and plug in the new one. Have somebody hold the new one while you turn the key on. It should open and close once quickly and if it does that it's probably fine.
Cool thanks, I got this one cheap enough that it justified the no down time for the car while i have one ported but I didnt want to send in a lemon and then have to try and find a way to make it work

And when all is said and done, you can sell the extra for a profit!
