Probably broke a cardinal rule...
Because you can turn your wheel with the key out of the ignition does not mean you have a CLB. It just means that the recall work was done to your column to disable the lock. Unfortunately this means that you are still prone to the issue that the computer may screw up and still think that the wheel is locked which would limit you to the 2mph fuel shut off speed.
The CLB fixes this by telling the computer that everything is fine and the column locking pin is in the retracted position. I would have someone use EFI Live or HP tuners to change the 2 mph fuel cut off to the maximum so if you ever get this error, at least you are not stranded.
Beautiful car by the way! It looks like you got one sweet ride!
Wheels, yea I know, runflats, yea I know, fishing pole antenna, yea I know. All that will have to wait for some discresionary spending money to become available. Besides, if some of us don't run around with wagon wheels how are the uninformed going to be able to truly appreciate those of you running all that bling!
For potential buyers still looking I guess the most disappointing item on the car are the rock chips on the front. It had more than I had hoped for , but not enough to turn me against the car. The wheelwells, rockers and quarters are in great shape, mainly due to the flaps installed by a previous owner. They are visible in the pic and I'm surprised no one has called me out on them. They are not attractive but at the same time they are not super obvious and they have done a wonderful job protecting the car.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell, not a show car, but a great sports car for me. And by the way I did buy a Mustang when Mustang's were cool. 1986 GT and it would run circles around a stock TPI camaro or Corvette of the day. Couldn't hold a candle to a C5 though.
You gotta think, whether you buy from a dealer or individual, they all can lie just the same about it's history. Heck, their is a guy here that continued to drive his car after losing a belt. I certainly would not wanna buy that car from him over a well maintained car at a dealership.
It's just a car.
Congrats on purchase.

There was a car available identical to the one I bought that was a one owner with just over 2000 miles that would have been sweet to own but it was double what I paid for my car and was just more than I was willing to spend for an 11 year old car. I have finally come to the conclusion that I got a pretty good car for the money and I'm just going to drive it and enjoy the ride.

I don't know where my wheels came from, they were on the car. My steering lock is like yours, it doesn't lock so I guess I need to research it more also. My drivers seat rocks a little but not a whole bunch.
I took off the fake rear brake ducts. I have a few more chips on the car than I wish as well, but it is what is. I'll repaint one day. And I need some splash guards. The front tires throw crap everywhere and I hate the noise of the Michelin runflats

Mine came with a quadrapower exhaust from Mid America and the thing sounds like a beast. I have some magnaflows I'm going to have installed so I can swap them back and forth. The antenna I will keep just to be difficult
The PO also put on a MGW short throw. The FRC will be a sought after car at some point, but that's not why I have one. I have it because it's the meanest looking vette I ever saw for my personal tastes.
You have a really nice FRC and did better than I did on price. Mine was 65K for 15K. I could have done better but the car was only 30 miles away and they just aren't real plentiful around here, especially a FRC.
There is a member who has 99 I think from Springfield who has one with about 47K, I think, I really wanted but his price was more than my budget for an 11 year old car as well and I didn't want to insult him.
I did break a cardinal rule today. I drove it to work knowing it was going to rain. But my STS has a slow leak in the tire and didn't feel like screwing with it. At least that's the excuse I will use.
Congrats on your ride. And tell Romey Hi

He would be happier w/a shorty But whatever you do DO NOT add fake or real side brake ducts on that FRC. It looks Mr Clean the way it is. Just get rid of that Van in pic.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Congrats and enjoy!
Yours are the stock wheels referred to as "wagon wheels". They have after market black stick on vinyl inserts that gives them a completely different look. There are quite a few catalogs/vendors that sell them at a fairly cheap price. About the only way to check for a CLB is to remove the panels and look!! The factory harness is a relatively big/long unite with a bout a 1" square(more or less) cube. A CLB is pretty short and the resistor is pretty small. Been a few years since I put mine in,,and the mental pictures aren't as clear as they used to be
!! Enjoy your ride as well,,it looks good too!! Micheline pilot sport ZP(zero pressure) are a QUIET and more comfortable run flat alternative If you want to keep a little security on the road!! They handle pretty well and are all season too!!

Nice lookin' FRC.

That is your only comment?
OP, Nice FRC!
I love the FRC too but wanted the top to come off even more!
If decide to lose the wheels, don't give them away! A lot of track guys will buy them if they are in good shape because of their light weight!
Nice lookin' FRC.
I do hear a clicking sound when I remove the key but had not noticed the sound when switching from off to on. I'll check that next time I'm in the car. Thanks for that tip.
It's all your fault
This is the car I bought from Jackie Cooper BMW. Your endorsement of the dealership made my decision to fly out to OKC a little less stressful. Maybe you should have a split of the commission, if there was any, they had started out at $21,988 about 3 months before I bought the car.
